About Us

Founded on a love of travel and family tradition, Moose Creek Lodge & courtyard has welcomed guests for over 20 years. Originally built by husband-and-wife team Larry and Sharon, the lodge was purchased by the King family in 2021 and continues to operate as a family-run business rooted in hospitality, heritage, and heart.

As the owner of the Moose Creek Lodge, we invite all of you to stay in Cody, Wyoming. While growing up, we had many adventures traveling through this great country as children and young adults.
Hosting friends and family and taking care of travelers has always been a passion for us. Getting involved in the hospitality industry and continuing the well-established service of the Moose Creek Lodge was a perfect fit! It is our family’s desire to provide a clean, comfortable, family-friendly, and safe stay for folks that are traveling to our city, whether you’re traveling from or going to: Yellowstone, Sturgis, Mount Rushmore, Custer, Jackson Hole, Gardiner, or West Yellowstone.

  It was great, family friendly service and right in the heart of town, so you got to walk around and see all the happenings in Cody. There is a little fake pony outside the office where kids can ride for 2 quarters (it is super cool for littles says my 8yo daughter). Onsite laundry room was very convenient, and the indoor pool allowed us to swim even when it was cool outside. The room we stayed in had two queens which were very comfortable. The ac worked nicely and the staff made sure we had everything we needed for the two nights we were there.

  I do recommend using (Moose Creek Lodge & Suites) Petra went well beyond for what her job calls for. That night there was no vacancies at any local hotels  and I was told to call this place and she told me that she was away from the desk and on her way back home . she actually turned around and came back to the hotel to get me a room.  will remember and in the future, I will definitely be using this place.

I will definitely remember this place and Petra.

I had just gotten out of the hospital because my son had to be rushed via ambulance from Yellowstone National Park due to a severe reaction to high altitude sickness.

  We couldn’t ask for better customer service and care—a direct result of Moose Creek Lodge being locally owned. The husband/wife current owners bought the lodge several years ago and have done a great job updating the property. When we had a small problem with our toilet, the owner quickly came and resolved the issue. He also proudly told us about places to see and eat in Cody, including next door’s Legacy Butcher & Burger restaurant/butcher shop (outstanding buffalo burgers!).

Our room was clean and well appointed. Although it wasn’t large, it courtyardd our needs. If you want a larger room, courtyard are available. The lodge is conveniently located close to the historic downtown, with lots of restaurants and activities.

  Savannah was amazing at check in and made the process super easy! We are traveling with our travel trailer and she set cones out to reserve our spot for us! When we called the front desk to ask a question there was an issue with the phone connect and walked over to our room to make sure everything was okay! Told us all about the Cody happenings and the rodeo. She is so sweet and you can tell she loves her job! The room is very clean and cute!

  We loved our stay in one of the king courtyard! The room was more like an entire apartment than a hotel room! We had a spacious living room, bathroom, and comfy bedroom. The room is nicely appointed with full size fridge, microwave, kuerig, mugs, dishes, coffee etc. We could have comfortably spent several nights! When we checked in the front desk staff was super friendly, full of helpful tips for attending the rodeo and other attractions in town. We highly recommend this very clean hotel and would definitely stay again!

  Our flight was delayed for hours and then eventually canceled. We were given a free hotel from the airline but the Moose creek staff went above and beyond to help us all feel much better. They provided transport to and from the airport for everyone on the plane, breakfast in the morning and were generally so kind and helpful. They really helped turn a stressful experience into a comfy, relaxing night. Flight cancellations are never fun but Moose creek lodge made it a memorable night. <3
